UN Women has invited the agency to join its dialogue on women and girls of African descent on 14 March, as a part of the official programme of the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which takes place in New York.
On 20 September, the Agency will give a presentation in Vienna during the kick-off event of the OSCE project ‘Effective Criminal Justice Strategies and Practices to Combat Gender-based Violence in Eastern Europe’.
The Agency will participate in the High-Level Political Forum 2018 on Sustainable Development "Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies" organised by the United Nations in New York from 12 to 17 July 2018.
The Subgroup on Equality Data will gather on 26-27 April in Brussels for its first formal meeting to start work on preparing a set of non-binding guidelines on improving the collection and use of equality data in EU Member States
From 7 to 8 March, the Agency will take part in a Eurostat task force meeting on developing a gender-based violence survey. Following the launch of FRA’s violence against women survey results in 2014, Eurostat – together with the national statistical institutes –began preparing the next EU survey on the topic.
The Agency will publish a paper on gender discrimination and violence against women during the 2017 edition of the European Commission’s Annual Colloquium on Fundamental Rights. The Colloquium will take place in Brussels from 20 to 21 November.
The Agency will present its work on gender-based violence at an International Conference on Data Collection and Research on Violence against Women and Domestic Violence: Precondition for Efficient Policy Making organised by the Czech government on 14 November in Prague.
On 21 July, FRA will give a presentation to OSCE delegations concerning FRA’s EU-wide Violence against Women survey, focusing on its impact and key messages. The presentation has been organised by the OSCE secretariat and it paves the way for the conference ‘Combating violence against women in the OSCE region – bringing security home’, which is taking place in Vienna on 22 July.
FRA will deliver a video message featuring some of the key results of its survey on violence against women for the conference ‘Le Maghreb en movement: de la criminalisation des violences faites aux femmes à la mise en œuvre’, which will take place in Tunis on 14-15 July.
On 16-17 March, FRA will attend a consultation meeting at the European Gender Institute (EIGE) entitled ‘From practices with potential to good practices on administrative data collection on violence against women’.
