The survey provides EU institutions and Member States for the second time with comparable data on Jewish people’s experiences and perceptions of discrimination, hate-motivated crime and antisemitism.
In 2016 the European Commission asked the FRA to join its High Level Group (HLG) to combat racism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance, and to coordinate a specific Subgroup of the HLG that will work to develop methodologies for recording and collecting data on hate crime.
Every year, FRA analyses and publishes a report based on official and unofficial data on manifestations of antisemitism available in the 28 Member States of the European Union. This report feeds into EU and Member State level efforts to counter antisemitism.
The second wave of the European Union Minorities and Discrimination Survey (EU-MIDIS) aims to assess progress made over the past five years since the first EU-MIDIS survey was carried out in 2008.
The FRA Working Party on Hate Crime was set up in 2014 to assist EU Member States in designing and implementing measures to encourage reporting and ensure proper recording of hate crimes.
This project will look at hostility, including violence, towards children with disabilities across the EU. It seeks to identify the legal and policy framework, as well as determine how information about such hostility is being collected. In addition, the project will look for examples of promising practices of how some Member States are addressing the problem.
This project encompasses two related surveys: A survey on discrimination against and victimisation of LGBT people. This survey aims to generate comparable data about the actual experiences of LGBT people living in the EU today This will be complemented by the views of public official and professionals in 19 Member States.

EU-MIDIS provided the first primary survey data collected from selected ethnic minority and immigrant persons resident in the EU Member States. This survey data will support policy-makers and other key stakeholders in developing evidence-based and targeted policies that address discriminatory, racist practices, and improve support structures for victims of discrimination and racist crime.
