FRA took part in the 4th steering group meeting of the European Commission’s study to collect data on children in judicial proceedings, on 14 March in Brussels.
FRA took part in a conference on violence against women, organised by the WAVE network in cooperation with the Domestic Abuse Intervention Centre in Vienna on 14 November.
On 12 October, the FRA held an expert meeting on “Researching with children in the justice context”, as part of its project on Children and Justice.
FRA took part in an expert meeting of the European Asylum Support Office (EASO), in Valletta on 9 October, on the legal aspects of assessing the age of unaccompanied minors in the asylum process.
Together with the children’s rights sections of the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Commission, FRA is working on raising awareness of the CoE’s Guidelines on Child-friendly Justice.

On 26 - 27 April the FRA consulted experts on its new project on "Children with disabilities: experiences of discrimination, inclusion and hate speech".
Three years on and the economic and financial crisis shows no sign of abating. Vulnerable groups are most at risk. To mark the anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on 20 November, the FRA wishes to reaffirm its commitment to securing the fundamental rights of children, many seriously affected by public service cuts in education, health and social services.
