On 8 April, International Roma Day, FRA spoke at a panel discussion on Roma policy in Austria and the EU at an event organised by the contact point for Integration Policy of the region of Lower Austria in St. Pölten.
On 8 April, we will celebrate World Roma Day. However, far more effort is needed in EU Member States to implement national strategies for Roma integration and achieve their aim of improving Roma people’s opportunities and their full access to fundamental rights.
FRA took part in the conference in Brussels on ‘Health in Europe: Making it fairer’ as rapporteur for the working group session ‘Health of People in vulnerable situations’.
The Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination visited FRA today (4 March 2014) for an exchange of views on activities and priorities.
