FRA will speak at the 2022 Winter Academy on ‘human rights go local: what works’.

FRA will introduce its framework for human rights cities in a session on 1 February on drivers and actors of human rights commitments.

On 3 February, FRA will focus on ways international, EU and national actors, in particular national human rights institutions and associations, can support cities in delivering on human rights commitments.

The Academy is an annual international event bringing together stakeholders from various regions to discuss human rights at local level, share experiences and lessons learned. The academy runs from 1 to 7 February.

The International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at the Local and Regional Levels organises the event, in partnership with the UN’s Human Rights Office, UN-HABITAT, UNESCO, the City of Graz and FRA.

The results of the academy will be compiled in an outcome document that will be presented and discussed at the online High Level International Conference on 8 February.
