Unit Equality, Roma and Social Rights Unit

Ursula Till-Tenschert is a member of the Agency’s Equality, Roma and Social Rights Unit. Her areas of expertise with respect to the FRA’s work include: survey methodology; statistical analysis; gender inequality, social inclusion indicators, violence against women, socio-economic living conditions and discrimination of Roma.

She previously worked for the Austrian Federal Chamber of Labour in the Economic and Statistical Department. Prior to that she was a project manager of the EU-Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) at the Austrian statistical office. She taught applied poverty and social research as well as gender statistics at the University of Vienna and the Economic University of Vienna.

She holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Vienna. She was a national delegate to several task forces and the Working Group on income and living conditions at Eurostat and has published annual reports and a number of articles and book chapters on income distribution, poverty and social exclusion in Austria.
