Sustainable Development Goals explored with EU Council Working Party on Agenda 2030

On 27 February in Brussels, the agency gave a presentation to the EU Council’s Working Party on 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

FRA’s presentation addressed SDG 10 on reducing inequalities and the importance of disaggregated data. The FRA stressed that its work is guided by the core SDG principle of ‘Leave no one behind’. It gave examples of relevant data on specific groups left behind in Europe such as Roma, immigrants and people with disabilities. FRA presentation also highlighted the role that National Human Rights Institute and National Equality Bodies can play at the national level.

The agency also met with the National SDG Focal Point of the current EU Romanian Presidency and the forthcoming EU Finnish Presidency to explore future cooperation.
