FRA joins Paris Arbitration Week discussions

FRA joined the high-level closing panel of the Paris Arbitration Week where they discussed the integration of human rights into economic law and policy and investment arbitration.

Key discussion points centred on the role and impact of EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, the implications of Omnibus, the increased importance of action and coordination at the Member State level and the EU’s role in global standard setting in the area of sustainability and human rights. 

Other themes included human rights due diligence methodology as well as human rights audits to effectively assess human rights risk in pre-establishment phases of international agreements and policies. 

The meeting took place on 11 April in Paris.
