On 3 October, the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU, together with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, held a seminar on safeguarding human rights in migration management in EU policy.
FRA, in cooperation with the UN Refugee Agency and the Frontex Fundamental Rights Office, raised awareness on monitoring obligations and effective investigations regarding allegations of fundamental rights breaches at the EU’s external borders.
FRA took part in a meeting of the ETIAS Fundamental Rights Guidance Board. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is the new travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers to enter 30 European countries.
FRA will speak in the plenary session of the 30th Anniversary Conference of the Office of the Ombudsman in Malta. The event looks at the role of the Ombudsman in upholding human rights and protecting the vulnerable.
The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the European Labour Authority (ELA) have jointly launched a new practical guide to help workplace inspectors to identify and address labour exploitation. The guide will also help workers to claim and enjoy their rights across the European Union.
To promote lawful and effective use of the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES) for registering non-EU nationals at external borders, national authorities must implement effective data protection safeguards, provide accurate and accessible information to non-EU nationals, and treat them with dignity and respect. The latest guides from the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) will support authorities in implementing the EES in full respect of fundamental rights.

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is concerned about the recent amendment to the Constitution of the Slovak Republic. The amendment introduces provisions that may conflict with the shared values and legal obligations underpinning the European Union. The constitutional changes risk undermining the principles of equality, human dignity, and respect for fundamental rights enshrined in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, as well as the commitments Member States have undertaken under the Treaty on European Union.
Roma and Travellers in the EU have more jobs and better housing than before, but poverty, discrimination and segregation remain widespread, shows a new survey from the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA).
FRA took part in a seminar organised by Equinet on navigating AI’s impact on disability and age. It looked at challenges and opportunities.
FRA attended a meeting organised by the European Commission with EU Member States and relevant EU agencies to discuss the European Annual Asylum and Migration Report. This report is an important element of the European annual asylum and migration cycle, as established under the EU Pact for Migration and Asylum. 
FRA contributed to a meeting on mobility and protection for human rights defenders (HRDs) in the EU, organised by the UN’s Human Rights Office and ProtectDefenders.eu. The meeting took place in Brussels on 29 September and 1 October.
FRA took part in a workshop of the EU Innovation Hub for Internal Security’s AI Cluster. It took place from 25-26 September in Tallinn.
The Center for Democracy and Technology held a roundtable discussion on 22 September in Brussels on ensuring the effective implementation of the AI Act.
On 24 September, FRA attended a European Parliament Shadow meeting on the proposed Return Regulation.
FRA took part in the launch of the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) 2025 results. The index is about enabling participation and inclusive policy in the area of migrant integration in the EU.
FRA together with the Albanian Ministry of Justice, held a two-day technical workshop aimed at supporting national efforts to improve the collection of disaggregated data and statistics on equality and hate crime.
On 10 October, FRA will take part in the Justice Home Affairs Agencies online workshop on drafting annual reports. The European Union Asylum Agency is organising the event.
FRA will contribute to discussions on the EU anti-poverty strategy. Participants will discuss how international human rights standards and the Guiding Principles on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights can inform the EU Anti-Poverty Strategy.
Under its ongoing project on fundamental rights in foresight, FRA will host its 5th and final 2025 foresight workshop.

From 8 to 9 October, FRA will host the 2025 Working Group on External Relations of the Justice and Home Affairs Agencies Network. It is part of its Presidency of the Network.
