The FRA Director will participate in a panel discussion including Tibor Navracsics, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, to explore the legal, moral, political and cultural aspects of Europe’s shared values.
The FRA Director spoke of the need to rebuild a Europe rooted in the universal values of human rights during his keynote address at the FIDE 2018 Congress on 24 May in Estoril.
The Agency was invited to attend and provide input to Eurostat’s consultation with other European Commission Directorates-General concerning their needs and priorities for population statistics from mid-2020s onwards.

The Agency hosted a closed joint stakeholder meeting on the Local Engagement for Roma Inclusion and the Roma and Traveller Survey projects from 24 to 25 May.
From 16 to 17 May, the Agency attended the 16th meeting of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency’s (Frontex) Consultative Forum.
The European Union and the Council of Europe have reviewed their legal frameworks for the protection of personal data to keep pace with changes in this fast-moving area. Building on the popular practical handbook on European data protection law, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), the Council of Europe and the European Data Protection Supervisor have just published an update as the EU’s new data protection rules take effect and the modernised text of the Council of Europe’s Convention 108 has just been adopted.
The FRA Director will address speakers during a conference to mark the EU’s new data protection rules entering into force.
On 25 May, the Agency will receive a delegation from Argentina mainly composed by representatives of the Buenos Aires Argentina Prosecutor's Office and CivesSolutions.
