On 26 February, FRA addressed the opening panel of the conference TACTICS for Change: Systemic strategies for coordinated responses to domestic violence.
A round table conversation with experts into what the freshly released EU gender-based violence survey report tells us – not only about the prevalence of violence against women, but also about the impact, systems and solutions. The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) will moderate.
FRA Director Sirpa Rautio will speak at the Justice and Home Affairs Council meeting in Brussels on 6 March. She will speak about the Conclusions on the application of the EU’s Fundamental Rights Charter.

FRA will join online a Eurostat working group meeting that takes place from 4 to 5 March. This is the annual meeting of the Eurostat working group on crime and criminal justice statistics.
The European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) is hosting an online knowledge café on 4 March. The webinar will foster a dialogue among several actors and promote actionable pathways towards preventing violence in institutional settings, improving support quality, and transitioning to inclusive and rights-based community services.
On 19 February, FRA gave a presentation on the EU gender-based violence survey and its approach to collecting data on access to justice.
On 19 February, the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU invited FRA to the Council Working Party on Schengen Matters, where it provided input relating to fundamental rights to the discussion.
FRA took part in the OECD Innovative Citizen Participation Network meeting, a sub-group of the OECD Working Party on Open Government, on 18 February in Paris.
On 11 February, FRA attended the Hungarian opening event of the EEA Civil Society Fund in Budapest, gathering 200 NGO representatives. The meeting was organised by the fund operator consortium: Ökotárs Foundation/ The Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation (lead), the Carpathian Foundation-Hungary and the Autonomia Foundation.
Women fleeing the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine face abuse, harassment and exploitation, shows a survey report from the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA). One in four women report experiencing physical or sexual violence since the war started. Some report being physically or sexually humiliated by Russian forces during interrogations. One in four women received potentially exploitative offers for work, housing or transportation, and half say they were physically or verbally attacked in the EU for speaking Ukrainian. The report suggests how best to meet the needs of women victims of armed conflict so they can rebuild their lives.
FRA will take part in a meeting of the EU Council’s Working Party on Fundamental Rights, Citizens Rights and Free Movement of Persons (FREMP).
On 10 February, FRA took part in the High-Level Conference on the Transposition of the EU Directives on Standards for Equality Bodies, organised in Nicosia under the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is set to move to its new headquarters in a building shared with the European Patent Office (EPO) in Vienna. Today, FRA Director Sirpa Rautio and EPO Vice President, Nellie Simon signed the agreement that formalises FRA’s upcoming relocation to Rennweg 12.
FRA took part in a Council of Europe roundtable with selected National Preventive Mechanisms on fundamental rights monitoring and its challenges in the context of migration. Discussions paid particular attention to the new forms of fundamental rights monitoring under the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.
FRA held an information session for National Liaison Officers on the FRA Draft Single Programming Document (SPD) 2027-2029 and the related annual consultation process designed to gather opinions from Member States.
FRA provided online training on fundamental rights in connection with the use of biometrics at a Frontex webinar on 4 February on Biometric Data Quality for Standing Corps Officers. The training included information about the importance of biometric data quality at automatic border crossing gates and self-service systems.
On 3 February, FRA delivered an online awareness-raising session on fundamental rights. It was part of the two-week pre-deployment training that Europol guest officers receive before being deployed to external borders to support national authorities.
