FRA spoke about the economic, social and cultural rights situation in Europe and the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on fundamental rights. It drew from the focus chapter of the Agency’s fundamental rights report 2024.
FRA will take part in the next Infra4NextGen Stakeholders Board online meeting on 18 November. The project is funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.
FRA presented its work on the use of new technologies by law enforcement at a hybrid seminar of the Independent Police Complaints Authorities’ Network (IPCAN). IPCAN members attended the 8 November event.
A third of women in the EU have experienced violence at home, at work or in public. Young women report having experienced higher levels of sexual harassment at work and other forms of violence than older women. Yet violence against women often remains invisible as only every fourth woman reports incidents to the authorities (the police, or social, health or support services). These are some of the findings of the EU survey on gender-based violence conducted from 2020 to 2024 by Eurostat (the statistical office of the EU), the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE).
FRA took part in the Annual Meeting of Focal Points of Regional Human Regional Human Rights Mechanisms. The UN Human Rights Office organised the meeting. It took place on 13 November.
FRA will present its report on EU Funds: Ensuring compliance with fundamental rights at a meeting of the Member States' expert group on the Common Provisions Regulation for EU Funds.
The EU Victims’ Rights Platform will meet on 18 November. The online meeting aims to discuss and synchronise ongoing and planned actions in relation to the challenges and opportunities related to the new technologies and victims’ rights.

FRA will take part in the 1st Eastern Partnership Civil Society Summit. It will take place from 19 to 21 November in Vienna.
FRA’s Director will take part in the 25th anniversary of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights. She will join a high-level panel debate discussing how to stand up for human rights in challenging times.
On 13 November, FRA will speak at a seminar on human rights and local democracy in Europe in Strasbourg. FRA will contribute to a table discussion on actions from the Council of Europe and the European Union in human rights at the local level.
FRA attended two meetings in Brussels in the framework of a country visit to Belgium of the EU Subgroup on Equality Data. The Belgian Equal Opportunities Division hosted and chaired the country visit to Belgium on 4. November.

FRA will take part in a meeting of the EU Network for Children’s Rights. FRA will present insights and outputs from its integrated child protection systems project.
FRA held an information session for public authorities on FRA’s work to support the rights-compliant implementation of the EU’s Migration and Asylum Pact.
FRA took part in a series of meetings in Brussels on antiracism and equality from 16 to 18 October.
On 15 November, a group of Slovenian and Erasmus students from the University of Ljubljana law faculty will visit FRA.

FRA and the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will hold a joint event for members of the OSCE’s national contact points network and the FRA-led EU Working Group on hate crime reporting, recording and data collection.
FRA participated in the 11th expert meeting on children in migration, organised by the European Commission (DG Home) in Brussels on 25 October.
FRA participated in the 4th EU-UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) strategic dialogue in Geneva on 21 October.
FRA took part in a roundtable on the rights of third-country workers, organised by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Brussels on 18 October.
