On 11 April in Brussels, the FRA Director will speak during a high-level panel to members of the European Committee of the Regions from the 28 Member States.

Cities and regions are on the frontline of many fundamental rights issues in Europe, such as security, integration of migrants and refugees, child protection, and fostering inclusion.

The panel debate aims to look at the situation of fundamental rights in the EU, and discuss how cities and regions can further contribute to fundamental rights in the EU.

It will bring together the President of the Court of Justice Koen Lenaerts, European Commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans, Vice-Chair of the Council of Europe’s European Commission against Racism and Intolerance Domenica Ghidei Biidu and FRA Director Michael O‘Flaherty.

The discussion will take place at the European Parliament.
