The webinar will discuss the publication of the Challenge Paper by CFJ-EN and Justice with Children. The paper identifies the ways in which justice systems within Europe can become more sensitive to LGBTI+ children. The paper used FRA findings from the 2019 LGBTI+ Survey for the 15-17 year old age group.
The panel will centre on the reality for LGBTI+ children in contact with the justice system and how discrimination happens within these systems.
FRA will provide perspectives drawing from its research and analysis regarding child-friendly justice and discrimination. It will draw on its work on children in judicial proceedings as victims, witnesses, or parties, minimum age requirements, and procedural safeguards.
