Discussions captured some of the remaining challenges in this area, such as lack of awareness of fundamental rights on the part of fund managing authorities, insufficient involvement of relevant civil society expertise and capacity issues.
FRA argued that all actors in the chain of approval and monitoring of projects needed to ensure they had the capacity to check compliance in an effective manner and should utilise the tools at their disposal effectively.
