FRA will speak on 22 June during an online workshop on human rights-based public services.

FRA will give an overview of its work on civic space and why civil society need to be part of policy making at all levels of governments. FRA will also provide examples on how a human rights-based approach reinforces the delivery of services drawing from its cooperation with human rights cities.

The workshop is part of four-day event on democracy and governance. The event brings together civil servants and staff from the national and local level with civil society representatives to explore matters of common interests related to human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

It will be an opportunity to test a new practical tool for taking a human rights-based approach to work.

The Open Governance Network for Europe, in cooperation with partners such as Open Government Partnership (OGP), organises the event. The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU hosts the event.
