On 30 March, FRA will deliver the keynote address opening day 2 of the Media Freedom Rapid Response Summit (MFRR).

FRA will take stock of advances of fundamental rights in the EU in the last decade and ways forward. It will offer a perspective on how the EU can remain a role of model for human rights by responding to global developments in a fundamental rights-compliant manner. A key element of this is civic space, and the role of civil society organisations, human rights defenders and journalists in upholding the rule of law and a fundamental rights culture.

The summit theme is press freedom on the line. It runs from 29 to 31 March in Brussels.

It will host in-depth discussions on journalist safety, the rule of law, and SLAPPs.
