Equality
The Union recognises and respects the rights of the elderly to lead a life of dignity and independence and to participate in social and cultural life.
This Article draws on Article 23 of the revised European Social Charter and Articles 24 and 25 of the Community Charter of the Fundamental Social Rights of Workers. Of course, participation in social and cultural life also covers participation in political life.
Article 30 (1) Citizens have the right to adequate material security in old age and during periods of work incapacity, as well as in the case of the loss of their provider. (2) Everyone who suffers from material need has the right to such assistance as is necessary to ensure her a basic living standard. (3) Detailed provisions shall be set by law.
Článek 30 (1) Občané mají právo na přiměřené hmotné zabezpečení ve stáří a při nezpůsobilosti k práci, jakož i při ztrátě živitele. (2) Každý, kdo je v hmotné nouzi, má právo na takovou pomoc, která je nezbytná pro zajištění základních životních podmínek. (3) Podrobnosti stanoví zákon.

Artículo 50 Los poderes públicos garantizarán, mediante pensiones adecuadas y periódicamente actualizadas, la suficiencia económica a los ciudadanos durante la tercera edad. Asimismo, y con independencia de las obligaciones familiares, promoverán su bienestar mediante un sistema de servicios sociales que atenderán sus problemas específicos de salud, vivienda, cultura y ocio.
Section 50 The public authorities shall guarantee, through adequate and periodically updated pensions, a sufficient income for citizens in old age. Likewise, and without prejudice to the obligations of the families, they shall promote their welfare through a system of social services that provides for their specific problems of health, housing, culture and leisure.
Article 39 (1) Citizens have the right to adequate material provision in old age, in the event of work disability, as well as after losing their provider.(...) (3) Details concerning rights listed in paragraphs 1 and 2 shall be laid down by law.

Artigo 72.º (Terceira idade) 1. As pessoas idosas têm direito à segurança económica e a condições de habitação e convívio familiar e comunitário que respeitem a sua autonomia pessoal e evitem e superem o isolamento ou a marginalização social. 2. A política de terceira idade engloba medidas de carácter económico, social e cultural tendentes a proporcionar às pessoas idosas oportunidades de realização pessoal, através de uma participação activa na vida da comunidade.
Article 72 (The elderly) (1) The elderly shall possess the right to economic security and to conditions in terms of housing and family and community life that respect their personal autonomy and avoid and overcome isolation or social marginalisation. (2) The policy for the elderly shall include measures of an economic, social and cultural nature that tend to provide elderly people with opportunities for personal fulfilment by means of an active participation in community life.
Article 19The Republic of Poland shall take special care of veterans of the struggle for independence, particularly war invalids. Article 671. A citizen shall have the right to social security whenever incapacitated for work by reason of sickness or invalidism as well as having attained retirement age.(...)Article 68(...)3. Public authorities shall ensure special health care to children, pregnant women, handicapped people and persons of advanced age.

Art. 38. (...) I lavoratori hanno diritto che siano preveduti ed assicurati mezzi adeguati alle loro esigenze di vita in caso di infortunio, malattia, invalidità e vecchiaia, disoccupazione involontaria.
Article 45.4.1. The state pledges itself to safeguard with especial care the economic interests of the weaker sections of the community, and, where necessary, to contribute to the support of the infirm, the widow, the orphan, and the aged. Article 45.4.2. The state shall endeavour to ensure that the strength and health of workers, men and women, and the tender age of children shall not be abused and that citizens shall not be forced by economic necessity to enter avocations unsuited to their sex, age or strength.
XV. cikk (SZABADSÁG ÉS FELELŐSSÉG) [...] (5) Magyarország külön intézkedésekkel védi a gyermekeket, a nőket, az időseket és a fogyatékkal élőket. XIX. cikk (SZABADSÁG ÉS FELELŐSSÉG) [...] (4) Magyarország az időskori megélhetés biztosítását a társadalmi szolidaritáson alapuló egységes állami nyugdíjrendszer fenntartásával és önkéntesen létrehozott társadalmi intézmények működésének lehetővé tételével segíti elő. Törvény az állami nyugdíjra való jogosultság feltételeit a nők fokozott védelmének követelményére tekintettel is megállapíthatja. 40. cikk (Az Állam) A közteherviselés és a nyugdíjrendszer alapvető szabályait a közös szükségletek kielégítéséhez való kiszámítható hozzájárulás és az időskori létbiztonság érdekében sarkalatos törvény határozza meg.

‘5.4 Accessibility 1. Member States and the Commission shall, in accordance with Article 7, take appropriate steps to prevent any discrimination based on disability. Managing authorities shall ensure by means of action throughout programme lifecycles that all products, goods, services and infrastructures that are open or provided to the public and are co-financed by the ESI Funds are accessible to all citizens including those with disabilities in accordance with applicable law, thereby contributing to a barrier-free environment for persons with disabilities and the elderly. In particular, accessibility to the physical environment, transport, ICT in order to promote inclusion of disadvantaged groups, including persons with disabilities, shall be ensured. Actions to be undertaken may include directing investments towards accessibility in existing buildings and established services.‘ [...] ‘5.5 Addressing demographic change 2. Member States shall use the ESI Funds, in line with relevant national or regional strategies to facilitate inclusion of all age groups, including through improved access to education and social support structures with a view to enhancing job opportunities for the elderly and young people and with a focus on regions with high rates of youth unemployment in comparison to the Union average rate. Investments in health infrastructures shall be aimed at ensuring a long and healthy working life for all of the Union's citizens.‘
‘5. The social protection floors referred to in Paragraph 4 should comprise at least the following basic social security guarantees: [...] (d) basic income security, at least at a nationally defined minimum level, for older persons.‘
