Ethical and legal aspects of AI in law enforcement

FRA moderated a panel at a conference organised by major EU-funded research consortia dealing with AI technologies used by law enforcement.

The panel zoomed in on the legal and ethical collection and use of data in law enforcement.

The agenda included a series of panels and workshops with renowned speakers and panellists.

Experts came from law enforcement agencies, academia, civil society, and commerce and industry. There were also institutional representatives from the European Commission, and EU Agencies such as Europol, CEPOL, Frontex and the EU Asylum Agency.

The conference took place from 25 to 26 January in Brussels.
