Victim Support Sweden (Brottsofferjouren)

There are no organisations in Sweden specifically aimed at victims of anti-muslim hate crime, or hate crime in general. However, Victim Support Sweden helps and supports victims, witnesses and others affected by all types of crimes. Between 2019-2020, Victim Support Sweden and the Swedish Police Authority ran a project called Swevic (Sweden Victim Support) aimed to improve support for victims of hate crimes. The Swevic project was funded by the EU Commission and The Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme. There are around 60 local victim support centres in Sweden. These centres are intended to support actions by the public authorities. The organisation offers free emotional support; practical help; Information about police reports, legal processes, and compensation issues; support during a potential trial; assistance in contact with authorities and insurance companies.
