Prisons Regulations (Prisons Regulations, Subsidiary Legislation 260.03)Each cell must have a toilet and wash hand basin with running water. Proper toilet facilities are located in other parts of the prison. There is no mention of a standard of privacy that should be available to detainees while using toilet facilities. Adequate bathing and showering installations must be provided so that every prisoner may be enabled and required to have a bath or shower on admission, and thereafter as frequently as the Director or the Medical Officer may deem necessary for general hygiene, according to the season but in any case, at least once a week. Prisoners must be provided with toilet articles needed for health and cleanliness, and that these articles will be replaced as necessary. Prisoners must always ensure proper maintenance and meticulous cleanliness of all areas within the prison.
