Prisons Regulations, Subsidiary Legislation 260.03Prisoners shall receive food “which is suitably prepared and presented and satisfies in quality and quantity modern standards of diet and hygiene, and which takes into account the age, sex, and health of the prisoners, the nature of their work and, so far as possible, their religious or cultural requirements”. Sub-article (2) states that the Director shall regularly inspect the food provided. No prisoner shall receive less or different food from that provided to other prisoners. Exceptions can only be made after a written recommendation by the Medical Officer.
