Structured cooperation with partners at national level

  • The principle of parity is applied in the appointment of council members, which means that at least half of the council members are Roma.
  • Other members of the Council are representatives of ministries, municipalities, the Ombudsman’s Office and civil society.

Structured cooperation with partners at international and EU level

  • Via its secretariat based in the Department of Human Rights and the Protection of Minorities of the Office of the Government and the Government Commissioner for Roma Minority Affairs, the council can cooperate with the UN, the Council of Europe and the EU.
