Key findings

The Ministry of Immigration, Integration and Housing makes an annual survey-based report that examines the feeling of citizenship, equality and self-determination. The latest report from 2016 showed that 62 percent of men with migrant background in the age of 18-29 had experienced discrimination in some form.

Furthermore, the report showed that only 20 percent felt recognized as Danes while 50 percent felt that they were Danes with migrant background.

Methodology (Qualitative/Quantitative and exact type used, questionnaires etc)

Postal questionnaires self-administered by persons with a migrant or refugee background. Questions from survey is available in the report itself (page 45). Furthermore, the survey was translated into 8 different languages for non-Danish speaking participants.

1330 respondents with migrant background/ descendants of immigrants and refugees
