Key findings

UNIA publishes in this report various figures for the year. In total UNIA has registered 7489 complaints and opened 2192 new files. For race discrimination, 886 cases were opened. Nearly 50% of the cases referred to media/internet (24,9% and goods and services (24,1%). The latter being a significant increase from previous years. Followed by employment (18,6%), society (11%), education (8%) and police and justice (5,7%). For religious beliefs, 307 cases were opened with 90,6% of them related to Islam. Despite a reduction in overall cases, the most cases involved incitement to hatred in the medias (social media, website,...) and employment.
