Key findings

The National Police publish an annual report with an overview of hate crimes across local police departments. The recent report shows that there were 449 registered cases of hate crime in 2018. Out of the 449 cases, 260 were motivated by racism and 112 were religiously motivated. In 56 percent of the 112 cases that were religiously motivated the victim was a Muslim. Muslims make up the religious group that is the victims of the largest proportion of registered hate crime cases in 2018. Hate crimes against Muslims account for 47% of the religiously motivated hate crimes in 2017.
