Key findings
According to official figures provided by the Federal Government, 187 crimes were registered by the police as "hostile to Islam" between 1 July and 31 September 2019; 25 of these crimes were assaults against mosques. In connection to these crimes 8 persons were reported as injured. An update of the prior report on Anti-Muslim crimes in the second quarter of 2019 (German Bundestag, Printed Document 19/12981) shows: From 1 April to 30 June 2019, 222 crimes were registered by the police as "hostile to Islam"; 16 of these crimes were assaults against mosques and 8 people were injured.

Figures were drawn from the police crime statistics (Polizeiliche Kriminalstatistik) on "politically motivated crime" (politisch motivierte Kriminalität) which includes "hostile to Islam" (islamfeindlich) as a new category since January 2017.
