It collected 2,582 cases of discrimination, 2,736 of which required direct assistance. 2,736 people were treated as victims of racist incidents. In 2023, the Service for the Care of Victims of Discrimination attended 2,582 cases, 1,012 cases (64.5%) more than in 2022. The population groups that have reported the most incidents are the Latin American, Gypsy, African or Afro-descendant, Arab, Amazigh and Asian populations. A significant problem of under-reporting that is aggravated in the case of foreigners in an irregular administrative situation, as they are afraid and have great distrust in the official authorities, especially the security forces. The Independent Authority for Equal Treatment is not yet in place, which is essential to guarantee independence, access to justice and protection of women.

Information was gathered by the technical team overseeing 23 official counselling offices. There were 5654 calls at 021 and 900 20 30 41 free phone lines.In comparison to 2022, when a total of 603 calls were received, there has been a 5,051 rise in calls since the 021 toll-free phone number was introduced in May 2023; 639 WhatsApp messages received at 628 86 05 07. 639 ; The number of in-person consultations. were 9,824; and the number of online consultations were 643.
