Methodology (Qualitative/Quantitative and exact type used, questionnaires etc)
The research employs an ethnographic methodology, combining quantitative data from refugee surveys with qualitative insights from interviews conducted with headteachers, teachers, integration officers, interpreters, volunteers, and other stakeholders directly involved with refugees.
Sample details and representativeness
Fifteen one-on-one semi structured interviews were carried out with a wide variety of candidates who are refugees, staff or volunteers that are associated and familiar with the refugee experience. All candidates are based in Co. Donegal except one, who is a Direct Provision staff member in Co. Meath. 7 work in education, 3 in integration support, and 2 are community volunteers.
