Key findings

The data is based on the survey conducted in 2020. Overall, 44% of the overall respondents agree that discrimination based on religion and ethnic appearance has increased in the past 5-10 years. 88% of the respondents agree with the statement, saying that " a Muslim family would like to rent accommodation and can pay for it but is rejected because of Muslim origin" - which is a demonstration of a severe form of discrimination on the base of religion/ethnicity.

Methodology (Qualitative/Quantitative and exact type used, questionnaires etc)

It is a quantitative study. The interviews were conducted online via TNS Ilres' MyPanel and by telephone. The fieldwork took place from 14 September to 23 September 2020.

Sample details and representativeness

The survey was conducted among a representative sample of 1014 residents. The sample was adjusted for to the following variables: ▪ Age ▪ Sex ▪ Region of residence ▪ Nationality ▪ Professional activity
