Penitentiary Code (Σωφρονιστικός Κώδικας)Private cells and wards have their own sanitation (sink, toilet) appliances. Showers are located in separate, joint facilities, used by all prisoners. Both cold and hot water should be available. Prisoners have daily access to the showers, at hours determined by daily order of the detention facility’s director. New prisoners are provided with essential personal hygiene products, such as soap, shaving cream, cotton, disposable razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and shampoo.
