| 2020 | The NPM report recommends that prisoners must have the possibility to eat during the night and food and basic kitchen tools (e.g., kettles, hotplates, microwaves) must be available. Persons deprived of liberty must be provided with a varied diet, taking into account their age, health, physical condition, religion and culture. Three meals a day shall be offered at regular intervals and at the customary times. Arrangements should be made to feed people who are absent from the institution at the usual mealtime. Food should be prepared and served hygienically in accordance with health standards and nutritional recommendations. It should be provided in sufficient quantity and at an appropriate temperature.
