| Order Regarding the approval of the rules for the installing and operating of correctional institutions (detention facilities) | When installing new or reconstructing existing cells, they must be equipped with a sanitary unit with dimensions (area) of at least 100x142 cm or at least 1.42 m². A metal washbasin and a toilet or a stainless steel toilet must be installed in the sanitary unit cabin. When there are no technical possibilities for installing a sanitary unit cabin in the existing cell, the place of the sanitary unit must be separated from the rest of the cell area by a partition (up to the cell ceiling). Facilities must ensure access to natural daylight. Light windows must be installed on the roof if windows cannot be installed in the walls. In addition, all facilities must have artificial lighting, and night (standby) lighting must be installed in newly constructed, reconstructed, overhauled, and renovated (modernised) facilities. The premises must be heated and ventilated. |
