Prisons Regulations (Prisons Regulations, Subsidiary Legislation 260.03)Young persons under the age of 21 are kept separated from persons over that age. The Director grants prison leave to various groups of prisoners, specifically to young prisoners, allowing young prisoners to spend part or the whole of their term of imprisonment in a young offender's rehabilitation institution or in a similar facility as approved by the Minister. Young offenders may be housed at the Centre of Residential Restorative Services (CORRs), which has 16 cells for male prisoners and 6 for female prisoners. Young prisoners are to be given particular attention in the provision of educational services.
