| Code on execution of sentences (Lietuvos Respublikos Bausmių vykdymo kodeksas) | The rules differ for closed, semi-closed and open regimes. The rules are the most lenient in open regimes where visits in a contact manner under the supervision of prison staff are 3 hours per visit; convicted persons in light groups can meet with anyone, and those in other groups - only with relatives. Convicted persons have the right to send and receive unlimited letters. They are prohibited from sending anonymous or collective complaints to state and municipal institutions. The costs of sending letters are paid by the convicted persons themselves. Convicted persons in the ordinary and disciplinary group in the closed and semi-open institution of deprivation of liberty have the right to call four times a week. |
