| Law No. 354 of 26 July 1975 on “Provisions on the Prison Order and on the Execution of Measures for the Deprivation and Limitation of Liberty” (Legge 26 luglio 1975, n. 354, “Norme sull'ordinamento penitenziario e sulla esecuzione delle misure privative e limitative della libertà”) | Detainees have the right to be assigned to an institution as close as possible to their family's permanent residence or, if identifiable, to their centre of social reference, unless there are specific reasons to the contrary. However, detainees subject to the special regime must be detained within detention facilities exclusively dedicated to them, preferably located in island areas, or in any case within special sections logistically separated from the rest of the institution and guarded by specialised departments of the prison police. |

including international terrorism, or subversion of the democratic order by committing acts of violence; No. 3 for prisoners who have played a leading role in criminal organisations dealing in drugs. |
