Croatia County Court in Pula (Županijski sud u Puli -Pola) 2013 Croatia / County Court in Pula / Kž-263/13 Race/Ethnicity Migrants The High Court convicted a man of threatening a Serbian from an ethnic minority with violence, with the aggravating circumstance of targeting a person on the basis of ethnic origin.The offender repeatedly threatened the victim that he would kill all the Serbs and cut them in pieces and sexually assault the victim. Croatia County Court in Slavonski Brod (Županijski sud u Slavonskom Brodu) 2015 Croatia / County Court in Slavonski Brod / Kž-220/14-4 Race/Ethnicity Migrants The High Court convicted two offenders of inflicting grave physical injury with the aggravated circumstance of hate crime. The offenders physically attacked the victim. The court held that the offence was motivated on the basis of race because the offenders directed “discriminatory words” towards the victim. In a shop owned by the victim, the offender made offensive comments based on race, for no other reason than his intolerance for persons of another race. Pp J-3155/2019 Race/Ethnicity Muslims Three defendants were charged that on 28 Sept 2019 in a bar in Zagreb they disturbed public order by pushing each other and verbally clashing, thus committing a violation of Art. 13 and 17 of the Act on Misdemeanors against Public Order and Peace. The first defendant is acquitted of the accusation that during the same incident he insulted the third defendant with the words: "Fuck your Muslim mother, balije" which is a violation of Art. 25 par. 1 of the Anti-Discrimination Act.
