Key findings

Following an invitation from the country, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) sent an Election Assessment Mission (EAM) to observe the country's snap parliamentary elections of 3 June 2018. The EAM reported that migration was among campaign themes and noted examples of intolerant statements against migrants during the election camapaign. They called on the Slovenian authorities to "consider the introduction of an effective mechanism to counter instances of intolerant rhetoric, including xenophobia and inflammatory language, in the campaign period."
