Key findings
The report summarises the results of annual crime victimisation surveys conducted in Estonia from 2010 to 2018. The surveys cover a wide range of questions regarding victimisation to crime experienced by individuals in Estonia. One question relates to hate crime – whether the respondent or their immediate family members have fallen victim to crime because of their nationality, race, skin colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation in the past 12 months. The amount of respondents who confirmed falling victim to hate crime has varied between 1-3% over the years.
Methodology (Qualitative/Quantitative and exact type used, questionnaires etc)
The respondents were interviewed face-to-face at their homes (except in 2012, when telephone interviews were conducted).
Sample details and representativeness
The sample of respondents varied between 1000-1102 people over the years, the sample included men and women, ages 15 to 75+, from various backgrounds and locations over Estonia.
