Key findings

This report provides the results from a nation-wide survey of hate crime victimization carried out in North Macedonia in June and July 2018. 17.5% of the respondents reported having experienced hate speech, and 9.1% hate crime, in the last 12 months before the survey. 60.1% of the persons that reported experiencing hate crime said that they did not report the crime to the police.

Survey of 1510 respondents (15 years of age or older); respondents were recruited by a combination of deliberate and spontaneous recruitment; focus on municipalities with ethnically diverse population.
