Key findings

The report investigates minority experiences of hate in public space during the covid-19 epidemic, focusing on the experiences of adoptees adopted from abroad, ethnic minorities, LGBTI+ people and people with disabilities. The report documents that minorities have been particularly exposed to hatred during the covid-19 epidemic. The covid-19 epidemic and its restrictions on both distance and assemblies have had special consequences for minorities. The closure of society and the risk of infection have resulted in fewer people in public space and people paying more attention to the behaviour of others. The minorities experience fear and feel more vulnerable towards hatered from others in public space, as they don't have friends or relatives to support them.

Methodology (Qualitative/Quantitative and exact type used, questionnaires etc)

Survey (quantitative) and interviews (qualitative).

Sample details and representativeness

The report is based on data from a websurvey sent to the four minority groups through social media with approx. 2.000 responses and on ten interviews with minority people about their experiences.
