| Penitentiary Code | The regular and uninterrupted communication of each prisoner with the wider social environment aims at the smooth living in the prison facility and the faster adaptation to social life after release. Any convicted detained person has the right to
receive visits, once a week, from relatives up to the fourth degree, whose duration is at least of half an hour. On the other hand, every pre-trial detainee has the right to receive visits, twice a week, from relatives up to the fourth degree, whose duration is at least of half an hour. The visits from legal representatives have no numerical or time limitation. Each inmate can communicate with a telephone located in a common, visually controlled area of the prison facility. There is no limit in the number of phone calls made. There is only a limit as regards the value of phone-cards a prisoner can possess – up to 25 euros worth each time. |
