Within the normative frame of human rights, we have to bring together different stakeholders and different expertise to get it right. Antisemitische Hassreden, Belästigung und Angst, als jüdisch erkannt zu werden – mit solchen Vorkommnissen sind Menschen jüdischen Glaubens heute in der EU konfrontiert. Aus einer groß angelegten, wiederholten Befragung von Jüdinnen und Juden, die die Agentur der Europäischen Union für Grundrechte als weltweit größte Umfrage ihrer Art durchführt, geht hervor, dass sich die Situation zu verschlechtern scheint.
„Wo und mit wem möchte ich leben? Was soll ich wann essen?“ – solche Entscheidungen zählen zu den Realitäten eines unabhängigen Lebens, die die meisten von uns für selbstverständlich halten. Doch für Menschen mit Behinderungen können zwischen Theorie und Praxis Welten liegen, wie die Agentur der Europäischen Union für Grundrechte (FRA) in ihrem neuesten Bericht feststellt. Er untersucht, was das Streben von Menschen mit Behinderungen nach einem unabhängigen Leben in der Gemeinschaft fördert, und was es behindert.
