FRA will present its report on ‘EU funds-ensuring compliance with fundamental rights’ to the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) on 19 March.

The report describes ways that Member States can improve the respect for fundamental rights when implementing EU funds. This includes strengthening partnerships with national human rights institutions and civil society, building the capacity of national authorities and monitoring bodies and improving complaints mechanisms.

The LIBE Committee is responsible for the majority of legislation and oversight of policies that enable the EU to offer its citizens an area of freedom, security and justice and ensures the full respect of and compliance with the EU’s Fundamental Rights Charter.
