A human rights-based approach to equality data for policy and monitoring

FRA delivered a keynote speech at the opening of the German Society for Evaluation’s annual conference.

The keynote covered the role of a human rights-based approach to equality data for policy and monitoring.

It looked at the challenges of collecting and using equality data from different sources for monitoring purposes. It provided examples of FRA work with regards to what and how to monitor. It also looked at the necessary elements of effective monitoring systems, including human-rights-based indicators and benchmarks.

The theme of the conference was valid data, rational decisions and accepted steering. The event ran from 14 to 15 September in Magdeburg.
