Launch of FRA’s initiative on strengthening National Human Rights Bodies

On 19 October, FRA will host an online meeting to introduce FRA’s EEA and Norway Grants-supported initiative on strengthening national human rights bodies under EU law. The initiative aims at cooperating with national human rights bodies to support them in fulfilling their mandates under selected areas of EU law. It also seeks to enhance the capacity of national human rights bodies and boost the transnational exchange of expertise.
This online information session will inform and consult experts from national human rights bodies about the initiative, its rationale and planned activities. It will offer a space to reflect on how the initiative can best respond to needs for capacity-building, peer learning and cooperation, in a way that complements existing work by the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) and the European Network of Equality Bodies (Equinet).
ENNHRI, Equinet, NHRIs and Equality Bodies across 15 EEA and Norway Grants beneficiary countries, as well as the Financial Mechanism Office of the EEA and Norway Grants will join the meeting.
