FRA takes part in EU anti-racism discussions

On 17 March, FRA Director Sirpa Rautio delivered a keynote speech at the 2026 European Anti Racism Conference. She emphasised the importance of rights-based evidence, robust indicators and strong equality-data systems to identify and address structural racism.

FRA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the implementation of the EU Anti Racism Strategy 2026-2030 and deepening cooperation with Member States, civil society and EU institutions. 

On 16 March, FRA contributed to the NAPAR Expert Group meeting in Brussels, where Member States presented updates on their National Action Plans Against Racism. 

FRA shared insights from its comparative evidence and survey-based work, supporting national authorities in strengthening data collection, monitoring systems and implementation under the new Strategy.
