FRA Director to meet German government and parliament

FRA Director Michael O’Flaherty will meet State Secretaries and staff of the German Justice and Interior Ministries on 31 May.

They will discuss relevant FRA work. Topics will include the Agency’s data collection on the situation of people that fled the war in Ukraine, the fundamental rights impact of using Artificial Intelligence, and how to tackle hate crime and antisemitism.

In addition, the Director will exchange views with members of the German Parliament’s EU Affairs Committee.

On 1 June, he will also meet the German Minister of State for Europe and Climate, Anna Lührmann. Both meetings will touch on fundamental rights aspects of the rule of law, the implications for the EU of the war in Ukraine, as well as on the follow-up to the fundamental rights related proposals emerging from the Conference on the Future of Europe.
