FRA took part in a Council of Europe roundtable with selected National Preventive Mechanisms on fundamental rights monitoring and its challenges in the context of migration. Discussions paid particular attention to the new forms of fundamental rights monitoring under the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.
FRA held an information session for National Liaison Officers on the FRA Draft Single Programming Document (SPD) 2027-2029 and the related annual consultation process designed to gather opinions from Member States.
FRA provided online training on fundamental rights in connection with the use of biometrics at a Frontex webinar on 4 February on Biometric Data Quality for Standing Corps Officers. The training included information about the importance of biometric data quality at automatic border crossing gates and self-service systems.
On 3 February, FRA delivered an online awareness-raising session on fundamental rights. It was part of the two-week pre-deployment training that Europol guest officers receive before being deployed to external borders to support national authorities.
In January FRA attended several meetings for the EEA/Norway Grants Local Development Programme in Bulgaria and Roma Inclusion and Empowerment Programme in Czechia, organised by the respective Programme Operators.

FRA participated for the first time in the EEAS/Commission Inter-Service Group on Human Rights. The group is chaired by the European External Action Service (EEAS) Human Rights Unit and brings together all Directorates-General (DGs) which have an international human rights dimension.
FRA participated in the workshop organised by the Joint Research Centre’s EU Policy Lab to inform the European Commission’s 2026 Strategic Foresight Report.
The roundtable discussion convened the International Partner Organisations (IPOs) of the Grants (FRA, CoE Secretariat and Venice Commission, OECD), the European Commission (DG JUST and CAB McGrath), the Donors (Norwegian MFA), as well as selected Civil Society Fund Operators (Bulgaria, Poland).
In the context of the Council preparing its conclusions on the review of the 2020-2030 Charter Strategy, FRA was requested to present its contributions on the Charter.
