Intergovernmental workshop focuses family reunification and unaccompanied children

FRA presented its focus paper on returning unaccompanied children and fundamental rights considerations to a workshop of the Intergovernmental Consultation on migration, asylum and refugees.

The multidisciplinary workshop examined the frameworks which support the implementation of family reunification and the sustainable return of unaccompanied children.

It was also an opportunity to discuss operational challenges and best practices across IGC States and participating organisations, to identify promising practices that could be replicated and the gaps that must be addressed.

The IGC is a State-led regional consultative process on migration and asylum.

The workshop took place at the IGC headquarters in Geneva on 18 September.
